Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you have the right to dispute anything on your credit report that is inaccurate, unverifiable, or incomplete.

What qualifies as grounds - Account you don't recognize - Incorrect balance, limit, or status - Late payment you can prove was on time - Duplicate accounts - Outdated information past FCRA timelines

The process 1. Submit a written dispute to the bureau (and the furnisher if applicable) 2. The bureau has 30 days to investigate (45 in some cases) 3. Furnisher verifies or removes 4. Result is sent to you in writing
