How Business Credit Scores Work

PAYDEX, Intelliscore, and Equifax Business explained in plain language.

Business credit is scored by three main bureaus, each with its own model.

Dun & Bradstreet PAYDEX (0–100) Measures payment performance on vendor accounts. 80+ generally means paying at terms.

Experian Intelliscore Plus (1–100) Blends payment data, public records, and firmographics.

Equifax Business Credit Risk Score (101–992) Predicts likelihood of severe delinquency.

Building the profile - Register a D-U-N-S number - Open a dedicated business bank account - Establish net-30 vendor accounts that report - Pay early, not just on time

Consistent, boring, on-time payment is what moves these scores.
